hi. im living in a private rent house and have been since march this year, i was told by my landlord when i signed the contract that the house was perfectly habitable and had been surveyed the year before. about a month after i moved in the wal paper just fell off a wall in the living room and behind it the wall was crumbling, also in my bedroom there is a little hole in one wall but there is mould growing all over the wall, and it keeps coming back.
so i told my landlord about the problem and she told me another place to check for damp this means she knew she was renting me a damp property after assuring me that the house was in good condition. now shes said she'll get someone out to fix it on the next dry day its nearly winter and wherew i live youre lucky to get a dry day in the summer, i have a 3 month old baby and i do not want this damp problem affecting her health atal is there anything i can do to make my landlord do the repairs? also do i have any legal ground as she lied to me when i signed the contract?
