Accident

Hello. I just had an accident and I had a legal question to ask. The problem is that it was my husband's car and I drove it. He's insured with Kwik Fit and on the insurance it says under " Persons or classes of persons entitled to drive - Insured only". Then, under "Limitations as to use subject to the exclusions below" it says "Use for social domestic and pleasure purposes and use by the Insured and/or (unless specifically excluded) his/her Spouse for use to and from a permanent place of business." I thought I was allowed to drive and I had an accident, then I called Kwik Fit and they said even though this is stated on the insurance, the information is incorrect. Is there any law saying that if a spouse is insured then automatically the other spouse can also drive occasionally? Or was I allowed to drive since they gave me incorrect information on my insurance policy? Thank you for your help!
