I am from Sudbury Ontario. I have received a phone call yesterday about a $5000.00 credit card that was sent to collection 10 years ago and they want their money now.This is the first time I hear from them in 10 years and I am sure that I did pay them the settlement they had offered me back in 2000.Question is..What can I do about this 10 year old debt? Do I have to pay it(again)as I dont have any proof that I paid it after all these years..Is there a time frame (statute of limitation)for them to collect on this credit card,can they still take me to court for this?..Thank you for your help.
