employment insurance overpayment

Posted in Criminal over 3 years ago, 3 replies

I have apparently received some bad advice from a family member regarding employment insurance while working. I have collected about $3200 while working full-time, although my weekly net pay has been around $300 per week.
My benefit amount has been $308/week during this time.
I am contacting HRDC about this, but my question is..
Can I be given jail time for this error? I am a single father with one child and am losing sleep over this!
I am anxious to create an agressive repayment schedule to get this fixed.
Any advice is appreciated.....
Thank You
Chris

I have done this twice and just had to pay it back. You may be issued a penalty as well. Good luck.
