Breach of contract?

I have been working for my company for just over 8 month now. My wage is national minimum which worked out just over 11k per annum plus quarterly commision bonus (stated in contract) so altogether it was something like 13k/year.
At the end of september our company was taken over by italian company. They want make some changes which may mean that we won't be gettin any bonus no more. It hasn't been officialy introduced or announced as they still haven't got back to our general manager on yhis subject. we are gettin paid this coming monday and we should be getting our bonus as well. Apparently we will not get the bonus as they haven't decided anything yet. Therefore my question is: isn't it a breach of contract in the eye of the uk law if it hasn't been officialy confirmed? What if they want us to sign new amended contracts with no bonus on it? are we allowed not to sign it? and what could be the 'side effect'? please help as me and my collegues don't know what to do. Regards
