My nephew bought a new utility trailer for his carpentry business from a car dealership approximately 2 months ago and now the dealership is looking for an additional $1500 that they short changed themselves of. The trailer price was $9000 but he only paid $7500 because the dealership/salesman had written on the receipt -$1500 for the down payment. My nephew had never made any down payment and now the dealership is trying to collect it. Is my nephew obligated to pay it or does the dealership suck up their loss?
