I filed a small claims suit against my ex-boyfriend and was awarded a full judgment plus any and all legal fees that may be acquired through the collection of this judgment. Shortly after I was awarded the judgment, my ex moved to Florida. I have made efforts to contact my ex to make payment arrangements with me. His wife has refused that I speak to him regarding this judgment and thus far, the debtor has made no effort to pay me. I am having a great deal of difficulty trying to collect this debt out-of-state. I have contacted my county court and acquired an official transcript of judgment to file in the county in Florida where the debtor is now residing. I have also contacted the county court in Florida and have requested information about how to peruse the collection process. They told me that they can not release any legal information to me of any kind and that I need to hire an attorney to initiate the collection of my judgment.
