I signed for a car for an boyfriend (now my ex) I was the primary signer on the lease he was the co-signer, I found out that the dealer did not put my name on the title. My boyfriend defaulted on the loan, I contacted a local lawyer who advised me not to try to obtain the car becuase i legally did not "own" the car even though I was the primary signer on the lease. Since the loan has defaulted and is negatively affecting my credit is there anything I can do to dispute this considering I was not put on the title even though I indicated I wanted to be.
