Refusal top provide information needed to pursue a libel case

Anonymous false allegations of fraud have been made against me by one of my colleagues, to my NHS employer. These allegations were via two letters and as series of emails. Even though these allegations have libelled me, my employer will not release the full text of the emails received, or the technical information from the emails (that could be used to identify the employee responsible). As I may wish to pursue a libel claim aganist this individual could you please advise if my employer is breaching any of my legal rights by refusing to give me this information. The reason the info release is being refused is because of concerns over breaching the 'whistleblowers' policy. However this policy only protects the identity of staff that raise concerns in good faith, which I can evidence, has not occurred here. The other problem is that it seems my employer will not allow me to present this evidence.
